Professional Development & Induction: Supporting New Teachers to Build Instructional Practices and Relationships that Support Students of Color
Hosted by:
Columbia Public Schools (Columbia, MO), Evanston Township High School District (Evanston, IL), and Madison Metropolitan School District (Madison, WI)
Conference Objectives:
To share best practices and district research on developing and sustaining professional development and induction strategies for teachers with a specific focus on how teachers can best support students of color, particularly in the areas of instructional practices and student-teacher relationships. Content will include hiring, training, and evaluation of teachers.
Target Audience:
District/School administrators, teacher leaders and other staff interested in and/or responsible for teacher hiring, induction, or evaluation of teachers.
This may also include human resources personnel, mentors, and school improvement/staff developers.
